What is i-Ready? I want to know more about this program.
i-Ready Diagnostic & Instruction is an online, interactive learning environment designed to assess students and then provide individualized instruction based on each student’s unique needs. The exciting format and engaging content, as well as the Study Buddies and other interesting, contemporary characters, draw in students right away.
What kind of device does my child need to use i-Ready?
The i-Ready web-app can be accessed through most types of personal computers (desktop, laptop or Chromebook) with a browser and internet connection. Students can also download and use the program through the i-Ready app, which is available for any iPad with iOS™ 11 or above, such as the iPad Air®, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro®.
How does i-Ready assess my child’s learning needs?
To start learning through i-Ready, students must first take the i‑Ready Diagnostic – an adaptive assessment designed to provide actionable insight into student needs. It offers a complete picture of student performance and growth, eliminating the need for multiple, redundant tests. By adapting to student responses and assessing a broad range of skills—including skills above and below a student’s chronological grade—the i‑Ready Diagnostic pinpoints student ability level, identifies the specific skills students need to learn to accelerate their growth, and charts a personalized learning path for each student.

When and where will the online assessments take place?
Your child can take the i-Ready Diagnostic assessments online through the i-Ready program, from the comfort of your home. The first assessment will take place at the beginning of the Challenge and the second assessment towards the end of summer break.
It is critical to note that parents cannot assist their children with the assessments as the responses on the diagnostic will determine the customized instructional pathway. You can find more information about how to administer the diagnostic assessments at home here.
What does personalized instruction mean? What kind of lessons/instruction does i-Ready offer?
Personalized Instruction delivers powerful online lessons that motivate students on their paths to proficiency and growth. Driven by insights from the i-Ready Diagnostic, i-Ready’s online K–8 lessons in Reading and Mathematics provide tailored instruction that meets students where they are in their journey and encourages them as they develop new skills.
